FAQ'S

FAQ's

  • Do You See Children and Adults?

Yes, we do see patients of all ages.  Our physicians handle everything from newborn exams through geriatrics concerns.  Presently, all of our physicians are accepting new patients. However, we do not see children on a one-time basis due to their regular physician being unavailable.

  • What Are Your Hours?

We are open 8:00 am though 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Doctors see their first patient at 8:30 am.  We are also open most Saturday mornings for urgent needs. If you wish to be seen on a Saturday or have an urgent need come up on a Saturday, be sure to call our office ahead of time to confirm that we can see you that day.

  • What Is the Waiting Time for an Appointment (Both Well and Sick Visits)?

We are generally able to schedule sick visits within three days. A well visit may be scheduled farther out so that we can properly care for sick patients and those with urgent needs. We try to encourage well checks during the summer months so that more sick visit slots are available during the flu season.  In-office wait times will vary based on the day, the types of appointments that are scheduled, and any urgent needs that may come up. We try to accommodate all urgent needs within the day, which we are typically able to do due to our staff of five full-time physicians.  Simply call our office (770) 267-7093 during our regular office hours to schedule an appointment for a sick visit, a wellness checkup, or an urgent need.

  • What Insurance Plans Do You Accept?

We accept a number of different insurance plans and are consistently working to accommodate new patients. You can call the customer service number on your insurance card to confirm that we are still accepting your insurance plan, or you can call our office to ask about a specific type of insurance coverage.

  • What Do I Need to Do Before My First Visit?

Be sure that one of our physicians is listed as your primary care physician on your insurance card BEFORE your visit.  In addition, to expedite your first visit, you can complete our new patient forms prior to your appointment and bring them with you.  Simply go to the "Patients" section of our website and click on “New Patient Forms.”

  • What if I Need a Referral?

You do not need a referral to be seen by one of our physicians. If you need a referral to another doctor and are hoping to get that from one of our doctors, we should be able to help you. In most cases, you first must be seen by one of our providers. Typically, your insurance will require a referral from your primary care physician, so make sure that one of our doctors is listed as your PCP.  In some cases, a referral from us is not required; however, we want to be responsible for coordinating your care.  Please keep us informed of any specialty care you receive that is not coordinated through our office.  In addition, our patients frequently find that we can evaluate and treat their problem without the need to go elsewhere for specialty care, so be sure to talk to us about all of your concerns. Whether we refer you to a specialist or you schedule an appointment on your own, please be sure that the specialist is in your health insurance plan's network.  In most cases, we try to refer within your plan's network, but it is your responsibility to confirm your plan's coverage.  Plans change frequently, and providers within a given plan may change as well.

  • Will My Insurance Cover This Test/Procedure/Specialist/Equipment?

Insurance plans are constantly changing their benefits.  With the large number of plans we accept, we cannot keep up with a complete list of each plan's benefits.  It is your responsibility to confirm coverage for a given test, procedure, specialist, or specialized equipment that you need.  Our physicians will order only those tests or procedures that we feel are necessary; however, insurance plans do not always cover the care that we feel is necessary.  If your insurance doesn’t cover something that we ordered and recommend, we are happy to discuss alternative options with you.

  • Will I Be Able to Reach the Doctor After Hours?

Yes, you will be able to reach one of our physicians after hours. You can call our regular line at (770) 267-7093 and you will be connected to our answering service who will then text our on-call provider. You will hear back from the on-call provider.

  • Who Takes Care of Your Patients When You Are on Vacation?

We have four physicians and one nurse practitioner in our office, so even if one is out of the office, we have several others who can see patients. If you call to schedule an appointment with a specific provider and he or she is unavailable, we will give you the option of scheduling with another provider or selecting a different day on which your preferred provider is available.

  • Which Hospitals Do You Use?

As independent providers, we refer to all local hospitals.
